Praxis – Practical Theology Classes
Conversant with the Cults: Wednesdays through Aug. 25 | 7pm
This class will consider popular local religions and cults, the questions asked about purpose and problems and the solutions that are drawn from such speculation. The group will consider what similarities these religions and cults have with Christianity and how the Gospel provides answers to the questions being asked. This group is ideal for those who have intimate connection with various local cults. Facilitator: Matthew Lockerman
Membership Class: Offered Again Sept. 8, 15, & 22 | 7pm
For those who have been attending Missio Dei and are interested in deepening their commitment to the church, our next membership class will take place on the nights of September 8th, 15th, & 22nd 2010 at 7pm. The class is divided into three sessions: Gospel, Church, and Culture. In week one, we will explore the essentials of the gospel message and its implications in every area of life. We will also address MDC’s theological particulars. In week two, we will look at the Scriptural basis and structure of the church and how the local expression of the body is to operate. In week three, we’ll examine how Christians are called to interact with culture and what it means for MDC to be a ‘missional’ church.
