We Have BIG News!

If you missed it, Sunday we announced our BIG news.

Starting Sunday, December 7th, our worship gatherings will be moving to Hall Fletcher Elementary School.

If you have been around for a while, you know we have searched high and low for some time for a worship space that would accommodate our growing needs as a church family. Finally back in July, a door began to open for us at Hall Fletcher; something we had never really considered, as we had hoped for a more 'permanent' facility. But Jesus had other plans.

We have had an ongoing partnership with Hall Fletcher over the last 4 years, trying to 'seek the peace and prosperity' of the school, its students & faculty, for the glory of God. By His grace, we've been given favor with the faculty and administration, and as we began talking, it was apparent they were excited about the potential of us meeting there. They have been exceedingly gracious to us in accommodating our needs for kids' space, storage, etc. We are all very eager to see our partnership grow.

Not only will moving to Hall Fletcher provide us with a larger, safer, more modern facility to use on Sundays, but it will also provide a greater opportunity for us to do real neighborhood ministry. The section of West Asheville where the school is located has tremendous needs. It is a neighborhood that has been somewhat overlooked by the revitalization of our city, until recently. It is also a neighborhood in transition, and has become very diverse. We see this as an amazing opportunity to both declare and display the glorious gospel of Christ to all.

More details will be coming in the next few weeks, but here are 3 things you can do right now:

1.  Pray - There are still some details to be worked out, and we know our enemy does not want our ministry to succeed. So please pray for a smooth transition, for unity in our body, and for continued favor with Hall Fletcher and its neighbors.

2  Serve - We will have a number of needs as we transition to becoming a more 'portable' church in the weeks ahead, and once we get settled, we will need more volunteers to help us create an inviting worship environment on Sundays. We need your hands! If you are not already involved in serving the body, we'd love your help. Contact laura@mdcasheville.org to volunteer!

3.  Give - Becoming more 'portable' will require us to purchase some necessary equipment and resources for our ministries. First, we want to say thank you to all those who so faithfully support the work of Missio Dei through your generosity. We are grateful! If you call Missio Dei Church your home and are not yet giving regularly, sacrificially, and joyfully to the work of God's Kingdom, then we'd like to challenge you to begin. You can contribute by cash or check each Sunday, or you can easily set up online giving as well. More details HERE.

With just 5 weeks to go before the move, there's a lot to be done. But we are very excited about the future of Missio Dei Church and hope you are too!
