Brethren, we will never see much change for the better in our churches in general till the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians.
-Charles Haddon Spurgeon
God has been exceedingly good to us over the years. We have, by His grace, seen men & women saved, marriages restored, families blossom, and disciples made. We praise Christ for all of this, and much more. However, amidst all of the blessings we’ve enjoyed, we have to admit that we have been a congregation weak in prayer.
Our elders accept responsibility for not leading our church well in the ministry of prayer, and have sensed conviction of the Holy Spirit to set a new tone for prayer in our body. Our desire is to see Missio Dei become a church who humbly and boldly seeks the power and presence of God through corporate prayer.
Starting July 6th at 6pm, we will gather on the 1st Sunday of each month for a time of kingdom-centered, bold, specific, ongoing corporate prayer. This will be an intimate setting where we come expectantly, with a desire to meet with and be changed by the Living God. We will spend some time in simple worship through song in each gathering, praising our God for who He is. The elders will lead through these gatherings, reminding us of the precious promises of God revealed in Scripture, and of His faithfulness to fulfill them all. In response to His great grace, we will declare our dependence upon Him, and we will ask our holy and powerful God to do what only He can.
Will you make time to gather with us and pray? Meet with us in the name of Jesus, sincerely desiring His presence and confidently expecting His power as we come boldly before God and ask Him, together.
