Ephesians 4 tells us that "their responsibility is to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church." We desire to see you fully equipped to build up the church in Asheville and beyond! That's why we're hosting EQUIP, an event during which you will grow in spiritual health. If you have questions about how to grow in your faith and become better equipped in your journey with Jesus, we encourage you to come.

These classes will take place on Saturday, February 27th from 4-8pm at Calvary Baptist Church's Candler Center. During the evening, we will have a time of more in-depth training that provides opportunity to engage a topic, ask questions and develop skills in order to think more deeply, choose more wisely and live more godly in our family, work and community.

When you register you can pick one of the following four classes:

Listening for God's Voice | John Parrish
Have you ever sensed a time when you "heard" God? How did you know it was God speaking? In this interactive two-part class, we'll explore Scripture to learn God's desire and initiative to communicate with his kids over nearly 4,000 years of history. We'll also consider how to discern His will for us today through the resources of His Word, His Spirit and His people.

Reading the Bible for All Its Worth | Nathan Marone
During this two-part class, we will go over several fundamental practices of good Bible study. The first session will include an exploration of how to identify the context of a passage, examine the various literary genres found in the Bible, and ways to avoid common mistakes in interpretation. During the second session, we will take two passages, on from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament, and together apply the principles of interpretation we've learned in order that you can gain skills and confidence to better understand the Bible for yourself.

Freedom to Share Your Faith | Jimi Branch
Do you struggle with sharing your faith? It's not as hard as you think. In this two-part class, we will look at the who, what, where, why and how(s) of sharing your faith.
